About Death at a Highland Wedding by Kelley Armstrong
Modern-day homicide detective Mallory Atkinson has been living in Victorian Scotland as housemaid Catriona Mitchel since slipping 150 years into the past. In this fourth A Rip Through Time novel, she travels to the Scottish Highlands with undertaker Dr. Duncan Gray and Detective Hugh McCreadie for the wedding of McCreadie’s younger sister. Tension between the McCreadie and Cranston families makes the gathering uneasy from the start.
Exploring the Cranston estate, Mallory and Duncan find an injured Scottish wildcat caught in a trap set by the groom, Archie Cranston. The animal’s injuries raise questions, and the groom’s erratic behavior adds to their unease. When a guest is murdered, Mallory and her companions must identify the killer before anyone else dies. Readers looking for a Victorian-era mystery with a time-traveling detective and a Scottish setting will find those elements at the heart of the story.
